How ImagePRINT Works

Welcome:

Welcome to the ImagePRINT family of Printer Drivers.

Using your application's print command, simply select an ImagePRINT printer driver to electronically capture your document or image as a black and white, grey image, 24-bit color image or Adobe Acrobat PDF image file. Choose the graphic format that best meets your requirements and the ImagePRINT driver converts and stores the image. You can use the resulting file in another application or attach it to an email message.

You can choose from the following graphic formats

  • Use the ImagePRINT Tiff Driver for black and white images, the JPEG driver for grey and colour images, and the PDF driver for both PDF black and white or color images.
  • Adobe PDF (1-bit B/W, 8-bit Grey, 8-bit Color, 24-bit Color)
  • Intel DCX
  • PNG (1-bit b/w, 8-bit Grey, 8-bit Color)
  • TIFF Group 3 (1-bit B/W Normal and Reversed)
  • TIFF Group 3 (2D)(1-bit B/WNormal and Reversed)
  • TIFF Group 4 (1-bit B/W Normal and Reversed)
  • TIFF Packed Bits (24-bit Color)
  • Windows BMP (1-bit B/W, 24-bit Color)
  • Zsoft PCX (1-bit B/W)

Whether you are a single user, a workgroup member or a corporate user, you will find this add-on a quick, efficient and trouble-free solution to your image file generation requirements.

Product Overview

There are three drivers in the ImagePRINT product family that you can use to create image files from any Windows application:

ImagePRINT TIFF Print Driver: creates black and white image files in TIFF, DCX, PCX, PNG or BMP formats.

ImageMAKER Color Print Driver: creates color image files in JPEG, TIFF, BMP and PNG formats.

ImagePRINT PDF Print Driver: creates PDF format files.

After you install ImagePRINT drivers, you can select them just as you select any other printer installed on your system. As configured when you install it, ImagePRINT displays image files in its own Image Viewer(or if using the ImagePRINT PDF driver, in Adobe Acrobat Viewer) and starts an email application so that you can send the images to email recipients. You can set up ImagePRINT to use its own SendMail.EXE client, MS Outlook or another SMTP mail client installed on your system.

You can set printing preferences such as:

  • paper size
  • page orientation
  • print resolution and dithering pattern
  • intensity
  • inverse printing
  • printer emulation (to mimic the resolution and printable region settings of your printer)

You can also set printing defaults, such as:

  • output file name and location
  • logging options
  • email application to launch
  • whether or not to create temporary files on a network
  • whether or not to hide the progress dialog

General Product Uses

Use the ImagePRINT drivers to create black and white and color images of print output from any Windows application. Convert documents, graphics files, database reports, BMPs, GIFs, JPEGs, PowerPoint presentations and CAD-CAM drawings. Potential uses of such images are endless.

Here are just a few:

  1. Distribution of Virus-free Documents by Email
Create image file attachments and use the ImagePRINT driver email options to automatically launch Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, Netscape Messenger (and others). Your email program attaches the converted file to a blank message that is ready to address and send. This is an ideal solution for sending virus-free marketing materials, legal documents, reports, diagrams and drawings.
  2. Enterprise Document Storage and Archiving
Convert business documents directly to images on the fly or in batch by selecting the ImagePRINT driver - no need to first print and scan the original documents - saving time, money, and paper.
  3. Document Distribution and Remote Printing Select the ImagePRINT driver to forward a document to any user's desktop throughout the company. Create exact copies of documents and reports for distribution via email, fax, and web delivery. The ImagePRINT driver is perfect for sending formatted Crystal Reports, spreadsheet reports, and web printouts. Documents converted to TIFF look exactly as they did when printed when you set ImagePRINT to emulate your printer.
  4. Document Storage
Electronically convert documents on the fly or in batch mode for document storage systems requiring documents pre-processed to meet the storage system requirements. Typical document storage systems include Eastman Kodak Archive Writer™, Kofax Ascent™, FileNET Panagon™, Brightspire™, and Acenza™.
  5. Document Faxing
Create TIFF class F documents direct from Windows applications by selecting the ImagePRINT TIFF print driver - these files are suitable for faxing using industry fax standards.

How ImagePRINT Works

Capturing a document as one or more images can be as simple as:
1.

Opening your document or image in its application (such as a browser, word processor or spreadsheet)... and clicking the application's Print button.

2.

Selecting the appropriate ImagePRINT driver

3.

Changing any of the ImagePRINT options (such as the file name or file format)
ImagePRINT automatically saves the image as a file under the name, in graphic format and in the folder you request

4.

Verifying the image in the ImagePRINT Image Viewer (or if using the PDF driver, in Adobe Acrobat Viewer).
